Bennet and Lorraine review their direct experiences with Dexcom CGM spanning the past seven years from Dexcom Seven Plus to the current Dexcom G5. They discuss the near revolutionary impacts the improvements in CGM technology have had on their children's type 1 diabetes care.

They discuss changes in overnight care, its usefulness for people living with type 2 diabetes, and what they see CGM's role will be in the future.

In addition, they share highlights of the recent earnings calls for Dexcom and Insulet including what's in store for the near future for both Dexcom and Omnipod. Listen in for all the news!

Christopher Snider joins Bennet and myself to discuss My Diabetes Secret, a forum he created on Tumbler, inspired by this post from Kerri Sparling on her blog, Six Until Me.

My Diabetes Secret, and the other communities like it, provide a safe space for people to share anonymously their thoughts and feelings about their disease without the fear of personal judgement. The hope is that openly sharing can serve as a step in healing.

Lorraine and Bennet are both parents of children with diabetes. Like many, diabetes was unknown to them prior to their children's diagnoses. In this episode, they share their diagnosis stories as both a reintroduction of themselves, and and a springboard to discussing the warning signs of diabetes.

Please share this episode as a form of awareness for those who, like so many, don't know what they are and don't know to look for diabetes. Our hope is that sharing this episode will identify the presence of diabetes for early intervention and avoidance of serious complications.
